Hi all! I’m Stacey from South Wales. I along with my 2 teens are relatively new to rat keeping we started with 2 boys Jasper (a Siamese Ruby eye) and Loki (who looked to be an albino with pink eyes until very recently where you can see a very light/faint grey hood he was over a year when that started) both were apparently from same litter and 6 months old when we adopted last December and we loved them so much we decided we needed to add another 2 babies in March who were 9 weeks old, Shota (pronounced show-ta) and Poseidon. Unfortunately, we have 3 boys left now as our old man Jasper had to be PTS at the beginning of August due to having a very bad stroke during that awful heat we had, no matter what we tried to keep all the babies cool, he just couldn't cool down like the others.
As a newbie ratty keeper, I did my research as best as I could for biggest part of a year before getting them, most of the info available is conflicting and sometimes unclear or from a different country but I try to make use of things I’ve found from the U.K. keepers but could do with more.
Thank-you for setting this up, looking forward to nosing around. Good luck
Stacey

Wishing you a warm welcome, Stacey!
My parents live in Tywyn on the west coast so needless to say I love visiting!!
Yes, online information is confusing. What I would love to build here is a huge and ongoing list of info, nicely organised into searchable categories. But rather than have one person's opinion, I believe the best way to learn is to be able to read replies from multiple keepers and draw your own educated decisions from those experiences.
It will take a little time but I'm sure it will be pretty well supported because there is such a huge NEED for this!
Thank you so much for joining us. I hope you enjoy using the forum xx
